On The Road To Road America 1963

This was quite a race. There were so many interesting and oddball cars. My book has 6 more pages of just photos with cars like the Maserati 151, Bocar Stiletto, Excalibur Hawk Mk 4 and the Fireball Special. As always, purchase details below.

1963 Pacific Raceways USRRC

We'll start 2017 with the tale of the 1963 race at my home track, Pacific Raceways. I was 13 at the time and just got interested in GP racing, so I didn't know about the USRRC yet and did not get to this race. Nice win for Pedro in the Huffaker Genie.
I still have copies of the book available, which has full pages of photos which are not being shown here. See below for order details.

Laguna Seca 1963

Although I've posted the 1963 Laguna Seca race previously, I'm doing it again to keep the sequence in order.

1963 Pensacola USRRC and the first Manufacturer's race

To continue the story, here are the text pages from the second race of the 1963 season, at Pensacola. These races were held at the Corry Field, Naval Air Station, with major SCCA races from 1959 through 1964.
The 1963 race at Pensacola was significant for being the first USRRC race to include the Manufacturer's Championship cars and for being the only Mfr's race NOT won by a Cobra.

Reading Speedily

The USRRC book is gaining traction with good reviews in Vintage Racecar, NW Alfa newsletter and Vintage Drift, plus on the Veloce Today and Speedreaders.info websites.

To whet your appetite, here are samples of some of the pages:

There 344 pages with a background of SCCA racing leading up to the USRRC, stories and results for each race, 500 photographs, points tables, championship charts, and an appendix with a list of winners, race course maps and records, plus a foreword by 1965 USRRC Champion, George Follmer.

For U.S. residents this will be available from the author, for $115 ($100 + $15 for shipping).  Washington State residents will have to pay $125 ($100 + $10 tax + $15 shipping).
Canadian residents the price is $150 US, which includes shipping.
The price plus shipping for European residents is $170.
